Aerospace Coating Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe handling and processing of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Identify and report any flight/product safety concerns immediately.
- Participate in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Understand and adhere to the Just Culture policy.
Technical Requirements
- Operate blasting equipment to clean and prepare the surface of materials and components.
- Select, prepare, and mix solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications.
- Prepare and mask parts with fixtures, rubber, tape, or metal masks prior to coating.
- Paint the parts.
- Set bake/cure oven controls for correct temperature and record time on process charts.
- Remove masking, clean overspray.
- Inspect surfaces visually for defects and compliance with specifications prior to and after applying coating.
- Clean and maintain spray/coating equipment, fixtures, and blast cabinets.
- Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
- Cross-train in other complementary skills and seek endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
- Move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
- Participate in the cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable safety requirements and report immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
