Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our accounting and administration department, you will be responsible for various financial and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation and overall efficiency of our organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a talented team and contribute to the growth and success of CPDC.

Key Responsibilities:
* Process financial transactions, including accounts payable invoices and payments, customer invoices, recording payments, verifying invoices, and reconciling accounts.
* Prepare financial documents, such as invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
* Assist with budget creation, monitoring, and tracking to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
* Work with the Senior Director in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support both day-to-day operations and annual audits and tax preparation.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial and administrative policies, regulations, and procedures.
* Support the preparation and submission of statutory reports and filings.
* Compile and organize financial and administrative data for both analysis and grant reporting purposes.
* Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and other financial documents associated with grant management.
* Work with other institutions who are participants in a national grant to collect data and prepare funding reports.
* Provide general administrative support to the company under the guidance of the Senior Director of the finance and administration department.
* Handle routine inquiries and correspondence, both internally and externally.
* Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and arrange travel arrangements when required.
* Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings, conferences, and events.
* Assist with record-keeping, filing, and document management.
* Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
* Help identify areas for process improvement and propose solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:
* A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
* CPA designation or in pursuit is an asset.
* Prior experience with a multi-functional role in both accounting and administration is advantageous.
* Strong proficiency in Quick Books, Excel, Word, Power Point and other software.
* Canadian government grant reporting.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* CPDC operates with a hybrid work model, allowing employees to work from home some days of the week and are expected to work 2-3 days a week at our Hamilton offices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

What We Offer:
* Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
