Job Summary

The Pastry Baker Manager will oversee the preparation and production of baked goods, ensuring high-quality products that meet established standards. This role involves supervising baking personnel and kitchen staff, as well as requisitioning materials and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and production of baked goods, including preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods.
  
• Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  
• Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  
• Draw up production schedules to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  
• Operate machinery safely and effectively.
  
• Organize and maintain inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  
• Ensure that all products meet established quality and presentation standards.
  

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
  
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  
• The ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
  
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  
• A client-focused approach with excellent oral communication skills.
