Pharmacy Technician Role with CareRx

CareRx is a leading provider of pharmacy services to seniors communities in Canada, serving over 92,000 residents in over 1,500 seniors and other congregate care communities. Our national organization has a large network of pharmacy fulfillment centres across the country, enabling us to deliver medications in a timely and cost-effective manner.
We utilize best-in-class technology that automates the preparation and verification of multi-dose compliance packaging of medication, ensuring the highest levels of safety and adherence for individuals with complex medication regimes. We work closely with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities- You will collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate, safe, and timely medication dispensing while optimizing medication continuity and resident outcomes.
- Complete daily tasks according to established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with the pharmacy management team regarding unresolved issues related to day-to-day work functions.
- Provide exceptional customer care to Seniors homes and retirement communities serviced by CareRx Pharmacy, offering support as needed to ensure outstanding care and service at all times.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the resident care team while maintaining professionalism, adhering to corporate policies to ensure the highest standard of customer care, optimal resident care, and quality of pharmacy service.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete resident health records, ensuring appropriate documentation and continuity of care.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Follow all corporate regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members when required.
- Engage in ongoing continuing education, remaining current in pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information, as well as corporate updates, policies, and standards.
- Prepare and compound medications as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- You must be registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT).
- Demonstrate proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other healthcare team members.
- Show effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Show ability to work independently and as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature manner.
- Display skilled critical thought processes and ability to prioritize appropriately.
- Show self-direction requiring minimal supervision and ability to work independently.
- Be motivated to achieve results reflecting a high standard of quality.
- Demonstrate dependability and responsibility in the execution of job duties.

- Knowledge of Kroll
- Knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC)
- Experience with Med e-care
- Experience with PACMed/PACVision
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs
- Understanding of provincial regulations governing LTC homes and Retirement Communities
