About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Jam Cafe Kitsilano. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and preparation
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and menu items
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
