Procurement Operations Manager

The Procurement Operations Manager at Vancity will lead the organization's procurement operations, ensuring that procurement systems, data analytics, and communication channels support Procurement's pivotal role in risk management, value optimization, and social and environmental impact.

This role will work closely with various business areas to manage contract lifecycles and strategic sourcing processes, ensuring that vendor relationships are managed in accordance with Vancity's requirements.

A typical day involves:

  • Procurement Operations and Communications: Design and implement procurement operational processes, pinpointing key issues and working with stakeholders to develop effective solutions.
  • Contract Management: As the subject matter expert, guide the organization in enhancing contract lifecycle management, ensuring data accuracy and process compliance.
  • Data Management, Reporting & Analytics: Design and manage procurement data and tools, producing reports and insights to support Vancity's objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Create and oversee vendor scorecards in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Third Party Risk Management and vendor performance standards.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Guide and lead strategic sourcing events, aiming to enhance value, reduce risk, and promote social and environmental impact.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business or Chain Supply Management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • SCMP or similar procurement designation (preferred).
  • Proficiency in procurement processes, systems, and data management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
  • Experience in Sustainable and Social Procurement (asset).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and procurement systems.
  • Data analysis skills using tools like Excel and PowerBI.
