Application Architect

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Application Architect to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Define and develop the detailed architecture for applications based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, solutions, application, data, security, and infrastructure architects to ensure solutions design aligns with Bank's standards, policies, and best practices.
- Provide thought leadership on reference architecture and design patterns, and develop roadmaps to simplify system integrations.
- Ensure quality of solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient to meet business needs.
- Maintain a sharp focus on system reliability and ensure overall architecture of the application can handle upstream and downstream system failures.
- Coach and mentor engineers.
- Communicate effectively across diverse audiences, departments, and levels.
- May need to provide production support from time to time.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, business, information sciences, or other related field.
- Java Developer with 7+ years of experience in requirements analysis, cloud back-end & front-end design, development, implementation, release, and deployment, and cloud implementation.
- Experience in Big Data Cloud Architecture, working with batch data processing, real-time message ingestion, stream processing in hybrid cloud ecosystems.
- Experience in manipulating streaming data to clusters through Kafka and developing ETL pipelines in cloud platforms.
- Experience in developing applications in Micro Service Architecture with technology stack as REST, Spring Boot, Docker.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills with a proven track record of gaining consensus from different stakeholders.
