Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator to join our team at Swiftwood Forest Products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating automated lumbermill equipment, examining logs and rough lumber, and ensuring cuts are made according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate automated lumbermill equipment from control rooms or consoles
  • Examine logs and rough lumber to decide best lumber cuts
  • Monitor logs and lumber movement to ensure cuts are made according to specifications
  • Set up and adjust saw equipment
  • Replace blades or bands
  • Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Manual dexterity
  • Attention to detail
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
Work Environment
