Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our residents in a Long Term Care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Group Exercises and One-on-One Sessions: Assist with leading group exercises and one-on-one sessions with residents, as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Encourage Resident Progress: Encourage residents to reach their treatment goals and participate in their planned treatment programs.
  • Document Resident Progress: Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session, as instructed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Assist with Resident Mobility: Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
  • Monitor Resident Health Status: Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Perform Treatments: Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be an asset. Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required. Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required. Access to a reliable vehicle is required. Must be a resident of the surrounding area.
