We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role based in a fast-paced warehouse environment where you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Summary

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner. This includes coordinating with external contractors, managing budgets, and implementing safety protocols.

  • Solicit and analyze Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for contracts with third parties, negotiate contract terms and conditions with the National Procurement Group, and monitor their performance.
  • Recommend the best direction for managing the effectiveness of work outsourced to third parties, ensuring that we minimize total system costs while maximizing benefits.
  • Stay current with all laws and regulations applicable to the scope of responsibility and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the facility and material handling equipment are kept in good working order.
  • Develop operating expense and capital budget recommendations and periodic estimate updates.
  • Be an integral contributor to major renovation and expansion projects, either leading or participating on the project team.
  • Develop processes to monitor and control efficient, effective operations against major accountabilities, including creating a Preventive Maintenance database, addressing variances in a timely manner.
  • Lead and manage the Maintenance team.
  • Lead environmental area management, such as recycling programs and waste disposal services.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of technical and business experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Certificate from a trade school with mechanical or electrical emphasis preferred.
  • Continuous knowledge update of best practices in preventive maintenance and repairs for all aspects of the facility and equipment.
  • Experience with operating budgets (labor, utilities, and repairs), capital projects/budgets, and controlled within agreed-to budgets and estimates.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels and functional areas of the facility and business.
  • Possesses a strong customer service attitude.
  • Solid leadership and colleague management skills.
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office, Word, Excel, and experience with Cetaris would be an asset.
