About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Consultant to join our team at The Emerald Group. As an Actuarial Consultant, you will play a key role in providing actuarial advice to trustees of defined benefit pension schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the lead Actuary in providing actuarial advice and guidance to clients.
  • Prepare and review actuarial reports and advice on actuarial factors, including transfer value bases.
  • Advise trustees on liability management exercises and de-risking strategies, including buy-ins and buy-outs.
  • Collaborate with the investment consultants to develop de-risking investment triggers.
  • Attend client meetings and participate in new business pitches.
  • Identify opportunities for additional revenue and contribute to the growth of the actuarial practice.
Requirements
  • A qualified actuary or close to being qualified through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' exams, or qualified by experience.
  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience in actuarial consulting.
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in PFaroe actuarial consulting software.
