Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at 2284439 Ontario inc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and transporting goods and materials across various routes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Vehicles: Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of tractor-trailers, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Plan Routes and Schedules: Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, using computer equipment and GPS technology.
- Communicate with Dispatch and Customers: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and address customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
- Manage Cargo and Equipment: Oversee the condition of vehicles, inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment, and perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
- Record and Report Data: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Education and Certifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, Air Brakes Endorsement, and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
- Experience and Skills: Willingness to train, attention to detail, handling heavy loads, physically demanding work, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
