Inpatient Mental Health Services Nurse Practitioner Lead

**Job Summary:**
Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner Inpatient Mental Health Services Lead to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals from across the hospital, CCH's Community Addiction and Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and other community services to provide high-quality care for patients admitted to the Inpatient Mental Health Unit.

We offer a competitive salary of $123,000 per year, which reflects the complexity of the role, the level of expertise required, and the expected outcomes. The successful candidate will be a seasoned nurse practitioner with a minimum of three years of experience in working with clients experiencing addiction/mental health issues.
As a Nurse Practitioner Inpatient Mental Health Services Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, counselling, screening, referral, education, treatment, and follow-up care for patients admitted to the Inpatient Mental Health Unit.
- Working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Serving as a liaison and consultant to other healthcare providers and regional partners regarding patient care and health services.
- Providing leadership in the transfer of knowledge into practice in nursing and related fields appropriate to the clinical focus.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A current registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class.
- A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized University.
- Experience working with interprofessional healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations.
- Strong advocacy skills for patient- and caregiver-centred care.
- Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical issues.
- Advanced knowledge of the consultation process as it relates to individuals, groups, and/or systems.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Knowledge of the regional healthcare system in the area of the discipline/specialty.
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook).
- Functional level in English (oral and written).
