About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at Kami Drywall & Renovation LTD. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring that all drywall installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Tenders and Quotations: Develop and submit detailed proposals for drywall installation projects, including estimates and timelines.
  • Supervise Other Workers: Oversee and direct a team of drywall installers to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Apply, Level, and Smooth Coats of Plaster: Apply and finish coats of plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Cure Freshly Plastered Surfaces: Allow freshly plastered surfaces to dry and cure, ensuring that they are ready for finishing.
  • Finish Corners and Angles and Create Decorative Designs: Use specialized tools and techniques to finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, Cut, Fit, and Install Drywall Sheets: Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit and a smooth finish.
  • Mix Plaster Ingredients to Desired Consistency: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, ensuring that they are suitable for application.
  • Spray Acoustic or Texture Materials Over Walls and Ceilings: Apply acoustic or texture materials to walls and ceilings, using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Attach Metal or Gypsum Lath to Studs or Furring: Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, ensuring a secure and even attachment.
  • Install Corner Beads and Wire Mesh Around Beams: Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams, ensuring a secure and even attachment.
  • Install Vapour Barriers and Thermal and Sound Insulation: Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, ensuring that they meet building codes and regulations.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints, Maps, Drawings, and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, ensuring that drywall installations meet design and building codes.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Site Environment: Dusty, noisy, and outdoors.
  • Work Setting: Various locations, willing to relocate.
  • Tasks: Prepare tenders and quotations, supervise other workers, apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, cure freshly plastered surfaces, finish corners and angles, measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, mix plaster ingredients, spray acoustic or texture materials, attach metal or gypsum lath, install corner beads and wire mesh, install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, sound discrimination, tight deadlines, work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, flexibility, judgement, team player.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
