Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Business Continuity Lead to join our Capital Markets team. As a key member of our operational resilience program, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuity of our business operations and developing strategies to mitigate potential risks.

About the Role

The Senior Business Continuity Lead will be accountable for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive business continuity program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify critical business processes, develop risk assessments, and create contingency plans to minimize downtime in the event of an incident.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Business Continuity Program: Create and maintain a comprehensive business continuity program that includes policies, procedures, and standards for all aspects of operational resilience.
  • Identify Critical Processes: Work with stakeholders to identify critical business processes and assess potential risks to ensure adequate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Create Contingency Plans: Develop and maintain contingency plans to minimize downtime in the event of an incident or disruption.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of business continuity strategies.

Requirements

  • Business Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 Years Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in business continuity, operational risk management, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Good knowledge of financial services, business continuity management, and operational risk management principles and practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to various stakeholders.
