Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems and associated equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities, responding promptly to malfunctions and taking steps to prevent their recurrence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement maintenance strategies that enhance equipment performance and reduce costs.
  • Operate various tools and machinery, including machining tools, to fabricate parts and perform repairs.
  • Consult technical manuals and other resources to determine maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry standards.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • A valid interprovincial or Red Seal Millwright ticket, or equivalent certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical documents and data.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads, sometimes exceeding 75 pounds.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including inside and outside, in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to work at elevated heights, in tight spaces, and in other challenging conditions.
