Job Description

We are seeking a Community Sport Development Coordinator to join our Recreation and Sport Partnerships team. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with Community Partners to support the delivery of sport programming to Calgarians. This role will also contribute to the implementation of the Sport for Life Policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a portfolio of Community Partner Sport Organizations, ensuring they have access to City services and comply with relevant policies.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Sport for Life Policy, promoting healthy lifestyles and opportunities for Calgarians to engage in sport.
  • Provide governance support, strategic planning, and operational guidance to recreation and sport partners, fostering long-term success.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, communication, and reports, ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison and resource for other Business Unit staff, providing expertise on recreation and sport partnerships.
  • Represent Recreation and Sport Partnerships on various committees and projects, promoting the interests of the City and its partners.
Requirements
  • A degree in Sport Administration, Sport Science, Recreation Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in recreation, sports, or non-profit management, policy implementation, capital development, and project management.
  • Previous experience consulting with not-for-profit groups, familiarity with City of Calgary, Alberta Government, and Federal Government policies related to sport development, and proven skills in group leadership and organizational perceptiveness.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of organization and attention to detail.

Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
