Fishing Department Lead

Job Summary:
The Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store department. This role reports to the Group Sales Manager and requires excellent leadership skills, customer service expertise, and a deep understanding of retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and direction to team members, ensuring seamless store operations and exceptional customer service.
- Delegate tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, training programs, and performance metrics to drive team success.
- Maintain a safe and organized store environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and events.
- Ensure team members follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Provide legendary customer service, identifying and meeting customer needs, and making product recommendations based on their analysis.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge, staying up-to-date on company programs, services, and promotions.
- Participate in visual merchandising, inventory management, and stockroom organization to maintain a well-stocked and visually appealing store.
- Manage customer complaints and issues, using good judgment and logic to resolve problems and make decisions within the job scope.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed, providing support and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment is preferred.
- Open availability, including store opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to evaluate customers' needs and make recommendations based on their analysis.
- Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customers' expectations.
- Ability to use good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions.
- Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle.
- Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's specific products is an asset.
