Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Directional Driller to join our team at Trinity Communication Services Ltd. As a key member of our field operations team, you will be responsible for executing work assignments, coaching and supervising junior technicians and labourers, and performing a variety of tasks related to directional drilling, conduit installation, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities
  • Execute work assignments, including box locating and directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures.
  • Coach and supervise junior technicians and labourers to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including mini backhoes, trenchers, winches, compressors, and directional drills, as well as power tools such as power drills and concrete saws.
  • Use technical and diagnostic tools, including cable locators, signal meters, and TDRs, as required.
  • Maintain a fit condition to bend, kneel, and climb during the installation process.
  • Safely lift loads of up to 65 pounds.
  • Work in restricted and tight spaces, and manage efficiently to meet deadlines and satisfy customer needs.
  • Apply due diligence to ensure accuracy in preparing and completing all necessary documentation for projects and timesheets.
  • Work well individually and as part of a team, and be well-organized.
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario (G and A-Z) driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Understanding and practice of defensive driving methods.
  • Accountability to work safely, adhering to company, IHSA, and Labor Canada standards.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment provided as job function dictates.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety training programs.
  • Identify and report all unsafe working conditions, and not proceed with work if it endangers others.
  • Participate in all Health and Safety efforts.
  • Set up and work safely on high-traffic roads, according to Book 7 standards.
  • Work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekends, with possible overnight stays.
