Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited.

This role is focused on defining and implementing health and safety initiatives that align with business plans, with a primary emphasis on strategy, leadership development, and regulatory compliance within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing workplace injury data to identify areas of unacceptable risk and collaborating with facility management to develop corrective action plans.
  • Promoting health and safety critical priorities and working with the client group to enhance a safety-first mindset.
  • Conducting internal health and safety assessments and reviewing facility corrective action plans to ensure identified risks are eliminated or controlled.
  • Supporting facility management in executing corporate compliance initiatives.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to improve front-line leaders' proficiency in occupational health and safety.
  • Couching front-line leaders on how to recognize, assess, and control hazards.
  • Providing training for Joint Health and Safety Committees and powered lift truck certification sessions.
  • Supporting facility management with provincial regulatory activities and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge in occupational health and safety management practices, with 5-7 years of experience.
  • CRSP, CHSC, or postgraduate OH&S degree preferred.
  • Experience in retail and/or supply chain environments an asset.
  • Solid understanding of Federal and Provincial Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Valid provincial driver's license.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays during the work week.
