Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Toronto Region Leader for ScotiaMcLeod. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the region's business strategies, plans, and initiatives to ensure compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and achieving defined goals for the region through the profitable delivery of superior client service and high-quality wealth management solutions to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. The role also involves recruitment of experienced Wealth advisors in the region and maintaining a close, collaborative working relationship with other Scotia Wealth Management and Scotiabank business leads.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develops and executes the region's overall growth strategy, business plan, profit plan, and sales goals by providing direction and support to direct reports, executing an experienced advisor recruitment strategy, and developing a visible community profile for Scotia Wealth Management & ScotiaMcLeod.
  2. Leads the sales and service management strategy by championing and facilitating the sharing of best practices, managing the quality and timeliness of client service, and maintaining a high degree of working knowledge of products and strategies.
  3. Leads the risk mitigation strategy, ensuring effective management controls are in place for the region, by identifying and managing problem accounts, providing direction and support for unit audits, and maintaining a high degree of working knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements.
  4. Oversees compliance management for the region by maintaining oversight of local supervisory functions, partnering with Compliance to create and maintain regulatory policies and procedures, and overseeing the implementation and execution of regulatory changes.
  5. Ensures operational effectiveness for the region by managing the regional profit plan, monitoring non-interest expenses against planned budgets, supporting client experience issues, and utilizing technology enablers.

This is a senior-level position that requires a post-graduate business degree and a CFA (or equivalent experience). The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience at a senior level within the industry, exceptional business development and leadership skills, and a well-developed network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.
