Wastewater Treatment Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join our team at the City of Summerside. This is a permanent position that requires a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain disinfection, filtration, oxidation, and pumping systems to ensure effective treatment of wastewater.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and make adjustments as needed.
  • Take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge to monitor treatment efficacy.
  • Perform security checks within the plant and on grounds to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings to identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma in an unrelated field or relevant work experience.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR certificate and Water Wastewater Operator Certification.
Benefits
  • $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
