Job Title: Golf Course Mechanic

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Golf Course Mechanic to join our Turfcare team at The Glencoe Golf & Country Club. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our equipment fleet to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair equipment to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Implement and ensure compliance with OH&S standards and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to our Turfcare team and members
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the annual operating and capital budgets for equipment repair and maintenance
  • Staff management and administration, including training employees on safety equipment and procedures
  • Ensure effective communication between team members, staff, and management

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanic, with experience working with golf course equipment and maintenance of construction and mechanical equipment
  • Education and/or working knowledge of small engines and diesel engines, troubleshooting electrical and/or hydraulic systems
  • Demonstrated team player with leadership competencies and a commitment to creating a respectful and supportive work environment
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and ability to obtain a background check
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Additional Details:

This is a permanent, year-round, full-time position reporting to the Equipment Manager. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings. The successful candidate will work alongside and report to the Golf Course Superintendent.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check and online certifications prior to commencing employment.
