Truck Maintenance Specialist with Competitive Pay

As a Diesel Truck Mechanic II, you will assist in the overhaul of major components or remove/replace major components at the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Expectations include the ability to diagnose and repair the following without supervision:
- Clutches
- PTO systems
- Electric systems
- Hydraulic/air brake systems
- Heating/air conditioning systems
- Instruments and gauges
- Preventive maintenance service
You will also be responsible for:
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition
- Raising trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
- Inspecting, testing, and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Examing and adjusting protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
- Inspecting and verifying dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
- Current enrollment in an apprentice program
- Maintenance of membership/registration with respective Government Agencies
- Ability to obtain class DZ driver's license within 6 months of being hired
- Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
