We are currently seeking Journeyman Plumbers who can read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • Select the type and size of pipe required and measure, cut, thread, bend, clamp, solvent cement, or solder pipe
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings
  • Join pipe sections and secure them in position
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Install sinks, tubs, and toilets
  • Install underground storm sanitary and water piping systems
  • May provide information to supervisors for preparation of cost estimates
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including Trotter & Morton's Health and Safety program
  • Responsible for reporting any unsafe work practices to Supervisor
  • Responsible for mentoring and training apprentices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of current Plumbing Code
  • Superior knowledge of applicable hand tools and power tools and scissor lifts
  • Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills
  • Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs
  • Ability to develop and implement planned maintenance programs
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures

Required Experience

  • Must possess a valid Journeymen Certificate/Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Must have Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
  • Minimum of four years of experience in the trade and 6000 hours
