Job Summary

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department at the City of Ottawa is seeking a qualified Fitness Instructor - Aquafitness Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching specialized aquafitness programming to participants in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Responsibilities
  • Teach aquafitness classes to participants of various ages and abilities
  • Develop and implement safe and effective exercise programs
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for participants
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 11 and current certifications from a recognized certifying organization
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship
  • Aquafitness Instructor Specialty certification (CALA, YM-YWCA, WaterART or other recognized certification)
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Accessibility/IASR Training
