The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Infrastructure Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Planning Group, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of infrastructure servicing plans for subdivisions, neighborhoods, and city-wide areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform urban water, sanitary, and drainage system modeling, including data management, model setup, and calibration.
  • Support the development of infrastructure servicing plans.
  • Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling and lead the development of integrated stormwater management plans and flood management plans.
  • Develop rainwater source control LID concepts and assist in LID designs.
  • Perform technical analysis in support of civil engineering design associated with municipal water, sanitary sewer, drainage conveyance works, and hydraulic structures.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates, implementation plans, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Write and review technical memorandums and reports.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with EGBC or APEGA.
  • Experience in hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modeling using various techniques and modeling software.
  • Experience in infrastructure master planning and flood management planning.
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS, or QGIS and other computer programs used for preparing reports, presentations, and designs.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
