Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team, you will be responsible for providing patient care and transportation services in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess emergency scenes and patients to determine the level of care required
  • Administer medications and provide advanced life support (ALS) care as needed
  • Transport patients to medical facilities using ambulances or other modes of transportation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Operate ambulances and other EMS vehicles safely and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months experience working as a posted designation in EMS frontline operations
  • Current, relevant experience as an AHS employee working in Metro EMS, dedicated Intra-facility transport, and Suburban/Rural EMS
