Job Summary
The Maintenance Operations Director will provide leadership and guidance to the Maintenance and Facilities teams, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. This role oversees resource utilization, performance, and team member development.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective maintenance functions, lead the Maintenance team by setting clear expectations, and hold team members accountable for performance and deliverables.
- Lead the Facilities team in maintaining a functioning GMP facility, set goals, track execution, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee Preventive Maintenance and Spare Parts programs, providing guidance on sustainability and improvements to maintain business continuity and high corporate performance.
- Assign, direct, prioritize, and review activities in terms of group resourcing, planning, and scheduling, strategically reviewing resource allocation and providing recommendations to achieve corporate goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to execute maintenance and facilities activities as planned, finding win-win scenarios when competing priorities exist.
- Ensure all areas meet regulatory requirements, including documentation, training, processes, and working areas.
- Develop and manage relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the maintenance and facilities teams, sharing performance with the wider team and defining areas for improvement.
- Forecast and manage budgets, develop short- and long-term maintenance plans, and execute facility improvements aligned with capital budgets, planning major maintenance projects and reliability initiatives.
- Assist in planning, developing, and executing CPL's production capacity plans to support current and future business needs.
- Develop employees through coaching, feedback, performance evaluation, and training provision.
- Promote safe working conditions, instruct and enforce compliance with safe work practices, and ensure trainees receive necessary information.
- Understand OH&S and GMP standards and performance objectives/targets.
- Contribute to cGMP and EHS Operating Procedure development and review related to maintenance and facilities responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum post-secondary education in a related field.
- 5+ years of combined management-level and pharmaceutical experience in a supervisory/managerial role of similar scope.
- Deep understanding of key pharmaceutical areas, such as compounding, packaging, and facilities management.
- Extensive knowledge of maintenance planning and systems implementation, exceptional planning, organizational, and project-management skills.
- Strong technical and maintenance background to support various activities, initiative, and self-starting abilities.
- Effective leadership, delegation, coaching, and interpersonal skills, proven ability to motivate team members and facilitate individual work styles.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Computer literacy with a strong emphasis on CMMS systems and AutoCAD.
Compensation Package
Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
