Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Apprentice to join our team at Norwest Metal Fabricators Inc. As an apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced metalworkers to develop your skills and knowledge in sheet metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates using precision tools and equipment.
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts, adhering to specifications and building codes.
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes, ensuring a safe and efficient installation process.
Apprenticeship Training

As a Sheet Metal Fabrication Apprentice, you will participate in a comprehensive apprenticeship program that includes:

  • Level one apprenticeship training, focusing on basic metalworking skills and safety procedures.
  • Level two apprenticeship training, emphasizing advanced metalworking techniques and equipment operation.
  • Level three apprenticeship training, concentrating on specialized skills and knowledge in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Level four apprenticeship training, focusing on project management and quality control.
  • Level five apprenticeship training, emphasizing advanced project management and leadership skills.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and necessary tools.
  • Dependability, organized, and team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with physical demands and manual dexterity.
