About this role
We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our Major Projects team, working from our site office in Surrey, BC. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.
If you love being part of building some of the most meaningful and needed Hospital projects in British Columbia, this is the position for you. Come be part of the team building large complex multi-year healthcare facilities for our communities.
You will be in a leadership role on a team of up to 250 people pursuing, designing, planning, and executing Electrical and Technology project scopes.
Your responsibilities
- Participate in the design and/or construction meetings with the owner, general contractor, sub trades, and vendors
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects, and vendors
- Control the time, cost, and quality of construction projects
- Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
- Manage project financial performance
- Work with the foreman and superintendent as a team to review the project documents and discuss labor requirements and staffing
Your experience and skills
- Minimum 7 years of previous project management experience with a strong background or knowledge in electrical work within the construction industry
- Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects from start-up to close-out
- High school Diploma & Electrical TQ or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Training or Courses in Project Management
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Accubid, MS Project
- Financial acumen and basic understanding of contract law
- Ability to create a detailed project schedule
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to understand customer's needs
- PMP Certification, P.Eng., or equivalent education
