We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Grand River Orthodontics | docbraces Simcoe. This is a full-time opportunity with Canadian Orthodontic Partners, a leading provider of orthodontic treatment.

Job Summary

This role will involve providing patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building personal connections at every visit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goal for comprehensive oral health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing personalized patient care and support, building trust and rapport with each patient.
  • Collecting patient's dental and relevant medical history to reference during examinations.
  • Preparing patients for the orthodontist, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Taking X-rays and following safety procedures as required.
  • Cleaning teeth to remove plaque, polishing, flossing, and brushing.
  • Bonding and removing brackets and orthodontic appliances.
  • Placing and removing arch wires.
  • Educating patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
  • Updating patient records and examination notes.
  • Performing lab duties and requirements as instructed by the orthodontist or leadership team.
  • Maintaining all dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
  • Registration and/or licensure by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Great time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training.
