Vindico Transportation Inc. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team.
About the JobThis is a full-time, permanent position that involves driving a straight truck with a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+, having three or more axles, for long-haul and short-haul trips.
Key Responsibilities- Drive a straight truck safely and efficiently on various routes across different locations;
- Load and unload goods using proper lifting techniques and equipment;
- Operate and maintain vehicles in good working condition, ensuring all safety features are functioning properly;
- Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment and navigation systems to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions;
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues to management;
- Keep accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption;
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation;
- Communicate effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders regarding trip status and any concerns;
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record;
- Criminal record check and driver's validity license check;
- Able to pass a drug test and have excellent judgment and reliability skills;
- Willingness to travel for extended periods, including overnight stays;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive tasks;
- Good physical condition, with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and wear steel-toed safety boots;
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations;
- Ability to train and develop skills in new areas as needed.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience and location. Benefits include paid travel expenses, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel overnight.
