Job Summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Meaford, Ontario. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing compilation engagements, corporate and personal income tax returns, and providing assistance to clients with bookkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare compilation engagements, including financial statements and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns, including T1, T2, and HST returns
  • Provide assistance to clients with bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions and reconciling bank accounts
  • Participate in the efficient preparation and completion of working papers, financial statements, and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare trust returns (T3)

Requirements

  • College or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 1 year of experience preferred, but willing to train for recently enrolled CPA candidates
  • Sound working knowledge of tax and accounting principles
  • Accounting, tax, and software knowledge, including Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage, and QuickBooks
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Highly analytical and accurate, with attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a high-volume work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
