Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager to join our team at Mr. Souvlaki.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled culinary professional to lead our kitchen operations, oversee menu development, and ensure exceptional food quality while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cooking and kitchen management, with experience in managing staff, inventory, and records. They must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintain a positive attitude, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cooking and Menu Development:
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standard.
    • Develop and implement new menu items, ensuring they meet the company's quality and taste expectations.
  • Kitchen Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
    • Ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
    • Foster open communication with staff, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a busy kitchen environment, lifting heavy objects, and standing for long periods. The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to adapt to changing situations.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
