About the Role

As a key member of the buying team at Mark's, the Purchase Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the execution of the merchandising strategy. This position is responsible for partnering with cross-functional partners to drive business results and exceed financial goals for assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assortment Execution: Collaborate with the buying team to ensure accurate execution of seasonal style creation, including vendor set-up, style creation, master data management, and purchase orders.
  • Vendor and Internal Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders through timely communication and follow-up.
  • Sample Management: Oversee the acquisition and distribution of samples, including procurement, sample room maintenance, and submissions to marketing.
  • Purchase Order Management: Manage the execution of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with product specifications.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Partner with the marketing team to execute marketing activities, including creating price events, leading ad proofing, and maintaining product compliance.
  • Business Analysis: Utilize basic retail math to analyze departmental business performance on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional departments, including planning and allocation, marketing, product development, design, logistics, and in-store operations, to ensure seamless execution of product assortment and customer experience.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of apparel retail store experience preferred.
  • Skills: Passion for fashion and retail, understanding of current trends, basic understanding of retail math, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
