Director - Data Governance

Taurus Search is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our client's enterprise data strategy and governance function. As the Director of Data Governance, you will be responsible for creating a roadmap and overseeing the implementation of our client's data strategies.

You will lead a team focused on policy design and data aggregation processes to make data more accessible to internal stakeholders. This role will also work with others to create a data quality framework to enable data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a centralized data management platform
  • Drive project roadmap and implementation of an enterprise-wide Data Governance operating model
  • Provide a clear understanding of data ownership and stewardship with well-defined processes and roles
  • Take initiative in driving results of projects through influence and collaboration within technology, security, privacy, and other stakeholders
  • Engage as key point of contact for other functions dependent on new and existing data as serve as a product owner

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in data governance, engineering, and strategy within the financial services industry
  • 3+ years in a managerial function
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in business administration, computer science, data science, or other related fields
  • Expert proficiency in ETL and data warehousing tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query, etc
  • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks (GDPR, CCPE, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills
