Job Title: Follow Up Support Worker

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a skilled Support Worker to join our Community team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, couples, and families experiencing homelessness and related challenges.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide caseload management, completing assessments, evaluations, and documentation to ensure the best possible outcomes for participants.
  • Secure housing and rehousing, ensuring participants are safely settled in affordable, suitable, and sustainable housing.
  • Develop and implement effective participant support services within the Housing First Philosophy.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills when working with vulnerable populations.
  • Collaborate with external service providers and community partners to support participants.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, as well as health and safety requirements.


Requirements:


  • University degree in a Human Services or related field.
  • 2 years of experience working directly with vulnerable populations.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR, Child Welfare & Police Security Clearance with vulnerable sector check.
  • Annual registration in a professional organization (if applicable).
  • WHMIS Certification (completed during new hire onboarding).
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention Certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license, clear driver's abstract, and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience working with diverse cultural groups, high needs, and marginalized populations.
  • Experience in a team environment.
