About the Role
The City of Calgary is seeking a visionary leader to oversee the Public Vehicle Standards division as Manager, Chief. This key position will lead the Transit Public Safety, Vehicle-for-Hire Public Safety, and Integrated Services sections.

Job Summary
As Manager, Chief, you will be accountable for delivering high-quality services that optimize community safety while fostering a healthy and engaging workplace for staff. Your expertise in strategic leadership, relationship development, management, and cultural change will drive innovation and transformation within the organization.

Responsibilities
• Set direction and service delivery strategy for the Public Vehicle Standards division
• Provide leadership to division leaders and indirect leadership to operational staff
• Cultivate relationships with Council, internal partners, and external agencies
• Collect and report on operational activity, trends, and risk assessment
• Develop business plans and budget strategies to achieve financial objectives
• Lead a workplace culture that reflects strong values and supports employee development, wellbeing, and belonging
• Oversee execution of duties and accountabilities of Peace Officers in accordance with the Peace Officers Act of Alberta

Qualifications
• Degree in Business, Management, or related field with at least 10 years of senior-level experience in public safety or law enforcement
• Experience managing large teams, budgets, programs, and policy development
• Strong strategic leadership, relationship development, and management capabilities
• Proven success in driving cultural change, innovation, and customer focus

About the Salary
The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000-$180,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
