Air Quality and Noise Specialist

We are seeking a talented Environmental Specialist to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our environmental compliance group, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of air and noise levels in our communities.
Your primary focus will be on air quality and noise responsibilities, including preparation of emission summary and dispersion modelling reports for ECA applications and EASR registrations, as well as project management for simple and medium complexity projects.
You will also be responsible for supervising junior staff and coordinating projects with clients and senior staff, while ensuring that our clients receive high-quality results and excellent service.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong technical background in environmental engineering and a passion for delivering excellent results. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including air quality and noise assessments, waste management, and industrial hygiene.
To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's or master's degree in applied science or engineering, with a strong focus on environmental engineering. You will also have previous relevant work experience and excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling Reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations
- Project management for simple and medium complexity projects
- Supervision of junior staff and coordination of projects with clients and senior staff
- Air dispersion modelling using AERMOD, SCREEN3, and other atmospheric dispersion models
- Coordination and implementation of field work for air and noise emission source inventories and noise measurements
- Conducting noise modeling using Cadna A and STAMSON software
- Preparation of Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic Audits
- Assistance with the design of emission controls and noise abatement
- Estimation of GHG emissions and/or verification of greenhouse gas reports
- Support of GHD's Advisory group with carbon reduction and climate change management plans
- Aid to senior staff in technical research
- Work with GHD's corporate Air & Noise Group
- Support of GHD's Occupational Hygienists and assistance with field surveys
- Preparation of reports for the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) and Ontario Toxic Reduction Act (TRA)
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Applied Science or Engineering in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering programs
- Previous relevant work experience
- Ability to prepare proposals in plain language addressing client requirements
- Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
- Ability to complete work under tight deadlines when required
- Works well independently as well as a part of a team
- Experience and understanding of regulations and associated guidance documents would be an asset
- Willingness to travel/work on-site independently
- No aversion to heights along with the ability to work in high noise areas
- Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
- Previous field experience is considered an asset
- Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) member
- Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle
