About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team at Academics Prekindergarten YVR as a Preschool Assistant. Job Summary: As a Preschool Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our lead educators in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 2-5 years old. Your primary role will be to assist with daily activities, engage children in play-based learning, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Caregiving: Assist with feeding, bathing, and diaper changing infants and toddlers; Establish a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Programming: Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities, such as storytelling, singing, and educational games, to stimulate children's curiosity and love for learning
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including preparing snacks and materials for activities
  • Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to share observations, concerns, and ideas for improving child outcomes; Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure seamless transitions and shared goals
  • Child Development: Observe and record children's progress, identifying areas of strength and need; Support children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning and feedback

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
  • Certifications: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification or equivalent
  • Personal Qualities: A genuine passion for working with young children, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and adaptability

Compensation Package: We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
