Apprenticeship Opportunity

This opportunity is for a Skilled Trades BC registered apprentice to gain industrial work experience in a Kraft Pulp Mill. The selected candidate will work closely with a team of tradespeople to gain knowledge in their trade and support maintenance activities throughout the Mill.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Safety focused

• Willingness to learn

• Ability to follow direction and is open to constructive criticism

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines

• Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate well with others

• Strong problem-solving & analytical skills, and excellent judgment

• Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands

• Detail-oriented

Qualifications

• Skilled Trades BC registered apprentice

• Foundations completed in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwright, Pipefitter, Electrical, Instrument Mechanics or HVAC

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Previous experience working in a safety-sensitive work environment is an asset

• Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite is an asset
