We're seeking a seasoned professional to join our team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as an Executive Director, Investment Risk Management. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our defined benefit pension investment strategy.

As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing the investment strategy and portfolio construction process for the CIBC Pension Plan.
  • Providing leadership and technical support to operationalize analytical, modelling, and performance monitoring capabilities to support the investment function.
  • Developing and recommending asset mix allocations to the Chief Investment Officer that provide engineered outcomes based on competing objectives and constraints.
  • Leading strategic Asset Liability Management (ALM) studies and providing ad-hoc analysis on potential asset mix changes and tactical tilts.
  • Directing the employment of data methods, visualization, and analytics to develop dashboards and reports that identify and monitor key risk indicators and performance trends.

This role requires a minimum of 10-15 years of experience within a large pension plan, endowment, investment/actuarial consultancy, or asset manager. You will have a comprehensive understanding of pension plan and/or institutional investing, as well as expert knowledge of capital markets and public asset classes.
