Job Description

This Co-op position is available at our Research and Development Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, for a period of 4-12 months. As an engineering co-op student, you will participate in product development projects, mill process optimization trials, and qualification testing and failure investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project work (75%): Develop project goals and planning, prepare metallographic/mechanical specimens, conduct mechanical testing and metallographic analysis, evaluate results, and prepare formal reports.
  • Trial support (20%): Participate in on-site trials, collect data and samples, and ensure trial execution according to plans.
  • Safety program, 6S, and R&D quality management program (ISO 9001) (5%): Contribute to safety meetings, develop safe work practices, and participate in kaizen events.
Requirements
  • Education: Enrolled in a recognized Canadian university's engineering program with a minimum of one year completed.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of engineering principles, including statics and strength of materials.
    • Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D development software.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Self-starter with passion for improvement.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. About the Role

This co-op position provides exposure to all aspects of EVRAZ NA operations, including steelmaking, casting, rolling, pipe forming, and welding. You will have the opportunity to work as a team member, participate in planning, data collection, and analysis, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
