Fish Processing Labourer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fish Processing Labourer to join our team at Baie Ste Anne Seafoods (2014) Inc. in a fast-paced fish processing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them to the work area
  • Operate forklifts to transport unloaded fish and shellfish from fishing vessels
  • Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack fish in ice
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
  • Sort fish according to species, weight and destination
  • Apply chemicals
  • Operate cleaning machines
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a noisy, odorous, hot, cold/refrigerated, outdoor, and wet/damp environment.

Requirements:
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
