This role is for a Lab Patient Technician responsible for the specimen collection process from greeting patients to preparing specimens for transportation. The responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and requesting necessary information from patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and ensuring patients follow the necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
  • Performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting Holter monitors, and performing ECG tracings.
  • Conducting special test collections such as medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, and completing related documentation.
  • Completing data entry for patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details related to processing test results.

This role requires a Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent. Phlebotomy experience is an asset. Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm are also required.

The salary range for this position is approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year. As a valued employee, you can expect:
