About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Scotiabank as a Quality Assurance Testing Specialist, where you will play a key role in driving automation testing adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for web and mobile applications using Appium and Selenium.
  • Provide training and support to development teams on test automation best practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Design and implement technical roadmaps to drive automation testing adoption and improve quality across the organization.
  • Coach and mentor team members to support career development and personal growth.
  • Participate in knowledge exchange forums and contribute to the development of best practices in automation testing.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and automated testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional and non-functional testing.
  • Experience working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to execute QE activities within sprint and work closely with development and business teams to plan, report, prioritize, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing for web and mobile applications.
  • Strong coding skills with Java, JavaScript, Python, or other relevant technologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
  • Experience with testing REST API and proficiency in API testing tools – Postman and Swagger.
  • Hands-on experience with identifying defects, minimizing steps to replicate, and logging issues into a defect tracking tool (JIRA or similar ticketing systems).
