About the Role

Nelson/Kraft and Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the position of Director of Shelters. This is a unique opportunity to join a reputable organization and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to emergency shelter sites, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that address the needs of participants, including those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure a high level of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage budgets, financial activities, and strategic planning to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
  • Recruit, motivate, and align diverse staff teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • University degree in a related field, such as social work, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of senior-level leadership/management experience in a related field, preferably in the not-for-profit/social service sector.
  • Proven ability to manage financial activities, including capital and operating budgets, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and de-escalation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to compassionately serve and directly engage with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
