Description of the Job
Ortec Group is looking for a skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Hamilton. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular field visits to business units and various work sites to monitor and ensure compliance with OHS regulations and procedures.
- Assist staff in identifying and mitigating potential risks, and help implement preventive measures and OHS indicators.
- Conduct investigations and detailed analyses of events, inspections, and audits to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (OHS, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, etc.)
- At least 3 years' experience in prevention and field intervention in a unionized industrial environment
- Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation and regulations
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Dynamic, autonomous, persevering, with a keen sense of organization and a team spirit
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly on site
