  • Modify/monitor meals in accordance with diets and changes in health status, as recommended and monitored by the Clinical Dietitian or physician.
  • Provide, review and reinforce diet instruction.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy of diet orders, preference lists, and trays. Observe changes in eating habits and bring any changes or concerns to the attention of the Clinical Dietitian.
  • Provide an introduction/overview of the food services system to residents, families and caregivers.
  • Participate in departmental monthly department QA, projects, and collaborate with departmental quality and service improvement initiatives
", "Qualifications": "
  • Graduated from an approved Dietary Technician diploma program, Food & Nutrition Management or recognized equivalent is required
  • Member of Canadian Society of Nutrition Management ('CSNM')
  • Completion of a Food Handler's certification
  • Two (2) years related clinical experience in a large health care facility
  • Previous experience working with a geriatric population would be an asset
  • Experience in direct care, nutrition screening diet modification and patient education
  • Experience in a computerized diet office environment
  • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to work with Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of Computrition systems
  • Knowledge of Meditech software would be an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with geriatric patients who may have varying stages of dementia
